Degrowth or Green Growth: A Reflection on the Recent Public Discourse in Norway

This study offers a reflection about the ongoing debate on “degrowth” and “green growth”, as depicted in Norwegian mass media. It addresses following two interrelated research questions. How do topics of public debate, where concepts degrowth green growth are used, connect overlap? In these connections overlaps, how relate to each other? We read all articles published Norway ten newspapers magazines, which have mentioned or growth” since January 2018, identify recurring interpretations related social political dilemmas. Then, we isolate elements articles, may represent sources discord misunderstanding, synthesize them into “core” topics, provide simplified basis for future debates.
